Though I have not yet spoken to my doctor, I just read my biopsy report and I have invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast. My total Nottingham score is 7 of 9; Histologic grade 2; tumor size: 9 mm. My medical background helped with knowing and understanding what I'm reading. I expect a scan will be next along with referral to an oncologist. I am in the Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina so have excellent choices for care. Anybody else out there just starting out with this? Somewhat into this already? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

Hi squeaker2: I live in Arizona and have the EXACT SAME very recent diagnosis, tumor size and am awaiting scheduling to contact me for a consult at Mayo in Phoenix. What are the chances? So glad I saw your post!

I’d love to stay in touch. The one thing I’m missing is a support system. I’m a 70-yr old widow who lives alone. Always said I would never do chemo if I got cancer, but since it’s so small, my chances of cure are high (95%) - think I’m going to go for it. I expect it to be quite a challenge doing it alone.

I also have lymphocytic lymphoma, stage 4 (only symptom is fatigue so far) diagnosed November 2021, so not receiving treatment for that until more symptoms appear (they don’t treat until symptomatic).

I’m scared, but a strong, upbeat person and I would love to stay in touch with you as we face this new challenge. My name is Jacquie and I’m new on here. My oncologist is sending me for a direct surgery consult at Mayo - I think the biopsy is all I need to get at this while it’s early and small.

Hugs and prayers sent your way.
Jacquie
