Wondering about side effects of Tymlos
Wondering about side effects for Tymlos being so commonly really bad described on drugs.com but so often good on this site. They mention after injection some extreme bad back pain, dizziness, nausea,
brain fog, etc., and more, the intensity and longevity being nearly intolerable, with many having to quit in spite of lowering the dose. Some even saying the side effects lasted even after they quit the shots for a while. On this site the reports are far more encouraging, side effects being described as way milder than the drugs.com descriptions. Made me Very Discouraged to read. We are all different of course but it was a shock after reading a lot here. I'm allergic to bisphosphonates, already have horrible Reflux Disease and have had 2 TIA's the last 2 years, so that pretty much rules out everything except Tymlos or Forteo, a grim choice. Anyone else read the reviews on drugs.com for Tymlos?

Could you provide a link to what you are describing
I went to drugs.com to look up reviews of Tymlos.
The people who have bad experiences are more likely to post about it on drugs.com.

2 ReactionsWhy is that? And why not here, also?
A specific link to a page or article would be helpful.
They all have potential side effects. What side effect you get if any will be highly dependent on your health, body and its chemistry.
I’m not without any…I still get very nervous just before my husband gives me my injection. I get a little queasy sometimes (it’s been 4 weeks) nothing else. He’s helping me with breathing properly to calm down the sympathetic nerves …it’s somewhat complicated but it helps. I just keep telling my self “I’m building bone back”.
The occasional slight nausea is normal for some people in the first 1-3 months…I guess I’m one of them.
What happens is you build up a “anticipatory reaction” …your brain starts to get you feeling nervous…changing the time slightly or surroundings can help.
I went to drugs.com and clicked on reviews of Tymlos.
You make many good points and I'll need to be doing some of that deep breathing to calm down, myself, being a high-wired type with high BP, taking 2 different meds for it. I like your "I'm building bone back," a great mantra!
And of course we are all different so it's hard to predict, all we can do is hope and try our best.
All your help has been greatly appreciated and helped me stay hopeful. Thanks!
I think it was @gently that helped me with that line…it doesn’t hurt that my husband had an extensive medical college background…his mother was a nurse too. He did a lot of research in his younger years …along with a degree in psychology. But he went into the arts…photography and music. lol

1 ReactionI took Tymlos for four and a half months before my insurance plan revoked my authorization. I did not experience any side effects except for slight constipation. I would not assume that you will experience any side effects as most do not. Just like all review sites, people tend to share any negative experiences more than they do positive or neutral experiences. I’d suggest giving Tymlos a try and see how you do. It can possibly help you grow new bone and improve your bone density.

4 ReactionsThank you for your encouragement, I see my PC this morning. I'm very skittish about this process, so the encouragement from you and several others has really helped me to settle into deciding to give Tymlos a try. Sorry you had to stop. Good luck.
@victoria93 Thanks, I was able to transition to Evenity and have been on that for seven months now. I had to switch to an endocrinologist from a rheumatologist and have been very happy with her to date. Evenity isn't giving me too many problems, just a bit of pain in my hip joints which is common.
