will insurance pay for Evenity after Tymlos?
I am 56 years old and have been on Tymlos one year with good results. Before I started treatment, my lumbar spine was -2.7; after a year it improved to -1.5. My hips have stayed steady at -1.5 and -1.6, but perhaps they will show gains during my second year.
I would like to follow Tymlos with Evenity to build more bone, as my understanding is that osteo is genetic and progressive, so the bone loss will continue if I do nothing. I can't take Fosamax or Boniva.
Does anyone have experience to share about whether insurance is likely to approve another bone-builder like Evenity? Or are my numbers not "bad enough" ? My understanding is that Reclast would "lock in" my gains, but that the effectiveness of any bone-builder taken after it would be reduced (bc of the sequencing issue). Thoughts? Sending best wishes to everyone on this osteo journey.
