Who’s taking Actonel?

Has anyone been taking Actonel? All the other drugs are mentioned, but no Actonel. I take it once a week with no side effects thus far.

I take it - the generic which is Risedronate Sodium. I've been on it for two years with no adverse side effects and an improved DEXA scan.

Great to hear. My stomach is a bit upset for a few hours after my every Monday pill, but gets better as day goes on. I take the pill with lots of water and sit up for 30 minutes.

Hi debhammel.
I just started the risedronate today, so this is good to hear. As usual all the listed possible side effects are a put off, but I know they err on the side of caution with these.
Because I'm on prednisone for AIH, they recommended it.
I have a bone scan scheduled in a year. Can you stop taking risedronate if your bone scan results improve? Or, are you still taking it?

I believe one can take a drug holiday if the DEXA scan shows improvement. I'll find out this coming April when I have my next scan and follow-up with my osteo doc.
