Which is a better PSMA/PET Radioligand - PYLARIFY or POSLUMA?

Posted by markbaldridge @markbaldridge, 19 hours ago

Does anyone know which PSMA/PET radioligand is better - PYLARIFY (piflufolastat F 18) or POSLUMA (flotufolastat F 18).

Thank you very much.

gallium-68 and pylarify are the two imaging agents that have been used up till Recently. Those were the only two that were available at places that did PSMA PET scans.

Never heard of Posluma being used before. It is supposed to be a little higher resolution than pylarify.

Gallium-68 Does produce a little bit more detail than pylarify.

Here is some info from AI

Gallium-68 (Ga-68) PSMA-11 (Illuccix, Locametz): One of the first FDA-approved PSMA agents, excellent for detecting cancer recurrence, though its shorter half-life can limit imaging windows.

Fluorine-18 (F-18) piflufolastat (Pylarify): Offers advantages like a longer half-life and better spatial resolution, improving detection of small metastases, notes Pylarify website and National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov).

Fluorine-18 (F-18) flotufolastat (Posluma): A newer FDA-approved F-18 agent, similar to Pylarify, providing high-resolution imaging, say CancerNetwork and VA.gov Home | Veterans Affairs.
