When was your first PSA test after RP ? (after how many days)

Posted by surftohealth88 @surftohealth88, 1 day ago

I am just wondering what is standard number of days used for conducting PSA test after RARP. If you remember - please share. 😎
We initially were scheduled to have it at 90 days mark per doctors instructions but after we got pathology back we panicked and moved it to only 7 weeks 😣. Now I wonder if that is maybe too soon ?
Thanks for the info in advance 🌼

I had surgery September 24 & the first post-op PSA on May 7.
It was .05

I'd prefer it more often, frankly.

It's usually 3 months post-op, then every 6 months for the first 2 years, then annually.

Maybe they were too busy failing to teach me Kegels & plotting my next surgery.

8 MONTHS ????? 😧 Wow, that is really out of ordinary, I am so sorry Peter ☹️. Can you order your own test in some independent lab ? Here is the USA it is very easy to do and it is not very expensive , about $42 .

Had surgery on June 16 and was instructed not to have it before August 7.

Thanks Jeff 😃 . It seems so far that it varies from 7 - 12 weeks.

BTW - how was your scan yesterday, if you do not mind me asking ? I really hope that all looks great 💗 and that there is nothing of concern there. 🍀🍀🍀

Yeah, I'm going to ask for one every time I see my GP.
Might as well. It's free.

3 months after RP and every 3 months for the 1st year. Since it's undetectable at my 12 month tele visit they changed the psa tests to every 6 months. I failed to ask when that'll transition to annually. Best wishes.
