When I point my foot up while doing the drop foot test

Hello when I point my foot up while doing the drop foot test I realize there’s two dents one on each leg right above my shin is that normal? Also, I’ve been experiencing twitching all over my body some soreness some cramping but twitching I have been doing research on ALS and I don’t want it to be ALS but I’m also scared that it is I haven’t experienced any muscle weakness mostly twitching in some minor cramping in my forearms and legs sometimes, I also think I may be diabetic and this could be neuropathy happening but I’m not sure I haven’t got tested for diabetes yet although it does run in the family, both of the symptoms seem very similar to each other it’s just that I don’t have weakness, but my legs have always been slightly proportion my left leg being slightly bigger than the right leg but I don’t notice anything severely crazy with the muscle. I don’t notice any crazy muscle atrophy. I’ve been paying attention day and day out stressing myself out trying to figure out what’s going on.

When I had foot drop I couldn't pull my ankle up at all. Can I ask why you're testing this? I really urge you to go to your primary doctor as it seems you're anxious over a number of symptoms. They can easily test your reflexes which would be abnormal in a neuromuscular disorder. And then you can ask some of your other specific questions. I've been in your place before and know how easy it is to get anxious when we don't feel right. That happened more when I was younger. But when you really do get diagnosed with scary things, you wish it never happened. I hope you're in good health and can resolve your questions.

I was told that if I don’t have a spinal fusion with a laminectomy, I will get drop foot. I’ve been putting surgery off for a few years and I have noticed weakness in both legs. I’m scared to have surgery and I don’t know if I should.

@mrsbw I sure can understand your concerns over spine surgery. There may come a day when your fear of not correcting the problem is greater than your fear of surgery. Nerves can be damaged permanently which leads to poor recovery after surgery. I was a caregiver to both my disabled parents in wheelchairs and I wanted none of that if I had a choice that could prevent a disability. I did have weakness in my legs and arms caused by spinal cord compression in my neck. I had drop foot and was walking with a limp and that resolved after the compression was removed from my spinal cord. What levels has your surgeon offered to fix? Spine surgery gave me my function back.

Drop Foot resolved with compression removed from spinal cord.
Please elaborate on solved drop foot. Thanks!
