I had reverse shoulder replacement 7 weeks ago.. I requested a nerve block to be administered in the recovery room post op tohelp with pain control during the first 24 bours. My surgeon stated that they do not do nerve blocks during surgery as there is a greater chance of the numbness that you are describing. I have gotten along very well. I don't have good grip strength yet but am working on PT for that along with the routine exercises for this surgery. The only numbness that I have is right along part of the incision line. Really no pain but some Muscle and elbow joint soreness which gets better with prescribed exercise . My range of motion is coming along nicely. Am able to wash my hair with both hands now. Good luck.
exercise.
