I do get some bleeding but only from outside usually as I am cleaning it. I would suggest you visit your surgeon to be sure there is not a problem

3 ReactionsPez01 is right; contact your doctor, surgeon, stoma nurse, or open wound nurse, as bleeding from the inside is probably bad. A little on the outside is usually not so bad. A lot on the outside is probably bad.

2 Reactions@mek1938, any update? Were you able to speak to your doctor or ostomy nurse?

2 ReactionsI had a radical cystectomy a year ago which caused AFIB which put me on blood thinner Pradaxa. I have had blood in my urine for the last couple of months. It is coming from the urine out put not around the stoma. Could I be irritating the conduit when working and in a crouching down position? My doctor from Stanford wants to do a conduit endoscopy which is new to me. Any information would be grateful.

1 Reaction@jguggia2, did you have the conduit endoscopy? How are you doing?
I’m trying to find out why I am having pain and some bleeding around my stoma. I have both stomas. It seems that the bowel is oozing out around my opening on the pouch. I had it a year with very little problem.
@djtravls You say you have both stomas...an ostomy and ???. What is your second stoma, please?
@piki one colostomy and one urostomy

1 Reaction@djtravls, that must be concerning. Have you reached out to your ostomy nurse to make sure you don't have infection? How are you doing now?
@pez01 I don’t think it’s meant to be “wiped” cleaned like you would your mouth…or anus….it”s inverted mucosal
Tissue. There is no skin (outer covering) If the bleeding
Stops,…that’s normal. If you manipulate/clean your stoma, it will bleed. Be gentle with it.
