Hello, Diagnosed August 2021, age 72, with PSA 4.2 and Gleason scores of 4+3. Surgery January 2022. PSA testings since have been <0.01, despite the confirmation of a Gleason 7 in one of my lymph nodes. I’ve been doing active surveillance. Jerry
Diagnosed at age 67, December of 2020, stage 4. Turned 69 last month. Survived a year of bad cancer days. Learning to live with cancer, days have improved.
a positive biopsy at age 71 with a PSA 12.8. had the 5 SBRT treatments over 10 days done 2 years ago last month at age 72.
Diagnosed at 54 with PSA at 35.7. Had RP and PSA went undetectable at 3 month check. PSA rise detected 6 months after RP. Started 18 months ADT (Lupron), and had radiation therapy 2020. 58 now with undetectable PSA.
Diagnosed in 2012 at 64 yrs old. Had an elevated PSA at 6.5 at that time. Selected active surveillance. Was PSA tested every 6 months for 10 yrs. PSA fluctuated between 3.5 and 5 for those ten yrs. Also had 3 MRIs and 3 biopsies over the 10 yr. period. In July of 2022, PSA spiked to 22.5. PSA re-tested again after 30 days and PSA had dropped back to 4.8. History of significant BPH also over the 10 yrs. of surveillance. Had my 4th MRI along with a PET scan because of the one significant PSA spike. No metastasize seen. Felt I had done active surveillance long enough. Chose to have Proton Beam treatment in October 2022 at my present age of 74. Praying for positive results.
Diagnosed at 71, I am currently 82
Age 58 rising psa 6.7, biopsy found it. Stage 1 Gleason 6/7
Undergoing additional testing to see where to go from there.
Current age 79. Diagnosed in July 2019 at age 76 with rapidly rising PSA to 6.8. Biopsy showed mostly gleason scores 4+5. ADT and 45 doses of PRT in 2019/2020. PSA undetectable until Spring of 2022. Another biopsy showed prostate was still clear. MRI followed by PSMA PET scan showed metastasis in 3 lymph and 2 rib bones. Just restarted ADT (Lupron) along with Enzalutamide.
My husband was 63 just retired had surgery in 2003 and told no radiation was needed. PSA rose in 2011 and he had 38 radiation treatments. So far so good. Just make sure you stay proactive and get your scans and blood tests. In 2017 my husband got lung cancer declined surgery and went with radiation, had it not been for the nurse following the Medicare guidelines he probably wouldn’t be here today. So far so good.
