Current age 79. Diagnosed in July 2019 at age 76 with rapidly rising PSA to 6.8. Biopsy showed mostly gleason scores 4+5. ADT and 45 doses of PRT in 2019/2020. PSA undetectable until Spring of 2022. Another biopsy showed prostate was still clear. MRI followed by PSMA PET scan showed metastasis in 3 lymph and 2 rib bones. Just restarted ADT (Lupron) along with Enzalutamide.

My husband was 63 just retired had surgery in 2003 and told no radiation was needed. PSA rose in 2011 and he had 38 radiation treatments. So far so good. Just make sure you stay proactive and get your scans and blood tests. In 2017 my husband got lung cancer declined surgery and went with radiation, had it not been for the nurse following the Medicare guidelines he probably wouldn’t be here today. So far so good.

Age 68. Coming up on one year diagnoses anniversary. PSA was 6.4. Gleason 4+4/8. High blood pressure prevented me from having surgery so I started Lupron in Dec 21 and 20 radiation sessions in Feb 22. Second dose of Lupron in July 22. PSA currently undetectable.
Lots has been written about the negative effects of Lupron and I seem to be experiencing most of them, but I'm still here. Best of luck to all of you.

@johno47

Diagnosed at 68. Interestingly, PSA was only 4.5 but had Gleason score average of 8. Had prostatectomy at 68, PSA started doubling, then had radiation at 69 for 40 sessions. PSA started doubling again, so went to hormone therapy. This kept testosterone at 0 and PSA undetectable. Recently stopped hormone therapy due to extreme fatigue but PSA is showing up again.

I’m 76. Diagnosed at 55, Gleason 4+3. Prostatectomy, recurrence, radiation. At 70 another recurrence. Went on Lupron. At 75 PSA rise. PSMA Pet scan found 4 pelvic lymph nodes with cancer. No other cancer detected. Underwent SBRT on the nodes, started Nubeqa. PSA undetectable. I highly recommend the newer PSMA scans. After 21 years with cancer I’m hoping for a cure. All the best to everyone dealing with cancer. It’s no picnic but good people are finding new ways to treat it all the time. Take charge!
