What is the average age of the gentlemen on here?

good evening men. i have a group question here. i,m 57 years old and i feel that is kind of young to have prostate cancer. so my question for the men is what is the age of some of you?

I was diagnosed 6+ years ago at age 51 with Gleason 4+3=7. Surgery with subsequent undetectable PSA for about 10 months, then a recurrence. Then did radiation with two years of ADT. About a year later it came back and I did spot radiation at Mayo and on my last three months of 18 months of ADT. I wish I started the process at Mayo.

Diagnosed early last year at 57. PSA was only 2.0, but climbing, All 15 biopsy samples came back hot … about half with cribiforms. Removed prostate in June, clear margins. PSA only dropped to 0.17. Has risen since to 0.75 in January, 2024. Nothing definitive on new MRI or bone scan. PET scan is tomorrow. Younger means we have more time to fight and win. It is priceless. Good luck.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 (oligometastatic) prostate cancer at age 56.

Hi John. My husband was diagnosed in April 2021 at 52. Stage 4a. He had his prostrate removed and 33 rounds of radiation and two years of aberaterone, lupron and daily steroid.

He is 11 months off treatment and PSA is undetectable.

How are you doing four years out from diagnosis?

I am 53 year old, I was diagnosed in 2021, And has a Gleason score of 9.

Me also, if possible for you.
G 9, successful RP, but EPE and 90 day PSA failure.
Just finished Salvage IMRT and short course ADT.

Robert I am also gleason 9 with aggressive PC I was diagnosed 2 years ago and had RP and a year of ADT and Erleada. I sure would like to know what you have done for treatment during the last 10 years.

Below is a time line:

August 2022, the cancer returned. The doctors put him on Zytiga. He complained of side effects. The doctors then put him on Lynparza. Again, he complained of side effects. In November, he started Pluvicto treatments. December, he was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma of the lungs. In January, he had 5 days of radiation. In February, he had Immunotherapy. A week later, he developed neutropenia. In March, hospice. In April, he passed away.

My husband was a very unique person. We never sat down & talked about his diagnosis or treatment
options. He wanted to be in charge of everything. I was just expected to get him to all of his appointments. Which I was able to do. He became more & more angry, though, once he knew he was loosing battle. Luckily, I realized that. I just listened. I did not make any comments or suggestions. Hopefully, there's good communication between the two of you. If anything, be there for your husband. Being told you have cancer is bad enough. Being told you have advanced cancer has be to a million times worse. Keep in touch.
