What is the average age of the gentlemen on here?
good evening men. i have a group question here. i,m 57 years old and i feel that is kind of young to have prostate cancer. so my question for the men is what is the age of some of you?

61- diagnosed with intermediate favorable Gleason 7 (3+4) 3 cores in Dec. 2023. Opting for IMRT . Known history of prostate cancer in family, but genetic test for BRCA was negative.
Diagnosed at 71. RP 3 months later.
Diagnosed in 2016 at 56 years old.

I am 77 now. Was 75 when I diagnosed.
I don't think 56 is out of the realm of those on MCC having prostrate cancer and symptoms.
You are going to read that almost every man will develop prostrate cancer if they live long enough. Most men will die from something else and then autopsy will show had prostrate cancer.
It is strange disease and the most common one is very slow growing and many men just to monitoring. I had radiation as it was recommened even though mine was low risk and confined to prostrate.

Abiraterone/Zytiga plus prednisone is not a last-ditch treatment. It kept my husband's Stage 4 prostate cancer suppressed for three years. Side effects for him were just some fatigue. Your doctor's advice sounds very sensible,
