What happens when the protocols are breached after THR that results i?
I had a right THR 6 years ago. 3 days post surgery, I accidentally leaned out over my lap, breaching the moving protocols following THR. A loud pop sounded accompanied by excruciating pain in the hip replaced. I mentioned to my surgeon on my initial surgical followup. "Let's wait and see" was the response from him. I healed well surgically; however, the groin pain continued.
Today, 6 years later, while a passenger of an automobile, the driver drove rapidly over a rather rough patch of pavement causing my hips to "rock exaggeratedly back and forth resulting in excruciating pain in my right hip. Now, my hip is tight when picking my leg up and pain extends down from my hip through my knee. What happened and can I do anything to mitigate my pain?

@kitten701 Ouch! I'm sorry the rough ride caused you so much pain. Due to the delay in spotting your post, some days have passed - is your leg feeling any better?
One thing I can assure you - a rough ride in the car will not damage a replacement hip any more than a natural one - I have had mine for nearly 20 years, and they have survived hard falls in the garden, on concrete, even from my bicycle. The muscles, on the other hand, could be really unhappy if you tensed up trying to stay in place.
Did you see a doctor, and is the pain improving?
Yes, I went today. I've been scheduled for a Hip revision in August. He told me to be very careful how I move so I won't dislocate it altogether.
