Using cbd gummies with thc and gabapentin for severe shingles nerve pain. Hope they are ok together. This is for my husband.

Does your husband take Cymbalta Rx for nerve pain? Also, capsaicin or lidocaine creams or patches may help. I like Salonpas brand for lidocaine patches. Alpha Lipoic acid and Acetyl l carnitine supplements help with small fiber neuropathy.

Also think the combination of thc and gabapentin may cause significant drowsiness. There are topical CBD creams that may help rather ingesting gummies. Topical goes directly to the nerve pain caused by shingles vs taking something that circulates your entire system.

I find folic acid helps. At the first flare I got a steroid and vitamin shot that may have reduced the severity of the outbreak

Thank you for your comments. Had not heard of cymbalta for nerve pain. Will ask our dr. Yes he is quite drowsy with gummy and gabapentin. I don’t think gabapentin is doing too much for him. Would that be cbd oil or cream with thc instead of gummies. I have used cbd cream for back pain. It helped some. Thank you again for your responses.

I feel bad for anyone dealing with Shingles. I don't want it. I got the vaccine and pray it works and stays away!!! My mother had it and I don't want that!!

Gabapentin can cause significant drowsiness in the higher doses. Sometimes taking a lower dose during day and higher dose at bedtime improves functioning in daytime and sleep at night. The lidocaine patch works for 12 hrs and can be cut and placed to cover the painful area. Any brand works. The flexible one is flesh colored if face involved, otherwise they are white. Cymbalta is Rx, antidepressant effects plus used for chronic nerve pain. He could ask Dr about it. It can be used with gabapentin and CBD as well. Ice packs are worth a try, as well as Capsaicin cream. I hope he gets some relief! Shingles pain is awful. He should also discuss with his doctor when he can get the vaccine so he doesn’t get it again. It’s nice you are advocating for him!

This may sound atypical, and it only might work within the first few
days.. but it may be worth a try for the pain.
I used whitening toothpaste on the first sight of 5 bumps that showed up on the back of my upper thigh.
I put dollops of toothpaste on each bump every hour. I did not know these were singles. I continued for 4 days then went to the doctor on a Friday. There was little spread.
She told me I had shingles.
She asked me what I was putting on them and I said whitening toothpaste. She was very puzzled.
She said to put calamine lotion on and to come back Monday.
I continued with the toothpaste as the burn was so slight and the toothpaste was drying them out.
I went back Monday for her to check them out. No spread, and they had almost disappeared. She was surprised.
She asked me if I had used the calamine lotion. I said no, I continued with the toothpaste. She shook her head and said my outcome had surprised her.
Again, I had applied this at the first sign of the bumps.
But it might help arrest the pain.
FYI: I had just arrived to visit my Dad at his home while he was under Hospice. I could not leave him. My friend had told me years before her daughter had used toothpaste on her acne because it worked for her.
Since I couldnt leave the house and thats all I had, thats what I used.
It worked for me.
And since it worked for me, Ive been since using whitening toothpaste topically for any type of bump or bite, pimple or boil with success.
I suggest you have a DESIGNATED tube MARKED “First aid only” and keep it with your first aid products.
