What brought you joy today?
If you've been living with cancer for a while, you know it's not all gloom and doom. Where did you find joy today? I'll start:
1. Working in my garden.
2. Meeting my daughter for tea.
3. Home-made pizza for dinner.
4. My spouse (always).
5. Some interesting online discussions.
6. Rereading a good novel.

Today, tending to my vegetable garden.
Yesterday, hauling away the junk around my workbench so that it can become operational again, and baking fresh whole-wheat molasses bread.
Every day, breakfast on the porch surrounded by flowers, and most of all, my family and friends.

3 ReactionsJoy today for me was dragging some stuff out to the road for disposal and getting the lawn mowed. I know not fun stuff but sure is a good feeling that I got it done. Right now, I'll take the things that make my self esteem better. And as added bonus, I have this coming week off from work, meaning odd chores and lots of rest. Best to all.

4 ReactionsYesterday, what brought me joy was having my kids and their girlfriends over for a late lunch to celebrate our 30th anniversary (which is tomorrow). It also brought me joy to learn to play Catan with them.
Today, what brought me joy was walking my dogs with my youngest son this morning.

7 ReactionsWelcome! And I hope you find many other sources of joy along your cancer journey. It's tough sometimes, but it can also bring wonderful surprises, especially learning to better appreciate the "little" important things (family, friends, nature, pets, etc) that get drowned out when one is constantly fussing over things like doom in the news, finances, or endless household to-do lists.
