Well differentiated Neuroendocrine Grade 2 in rectum
Hi there,
I was recently diagnosed with a Neuroendocrine tumor in my rectum. After a rectal biopsy and correlating morphology and Immunohistochemistry, the diagnosis was a Well differentiated Neuroendocrine, Grade 2. From the PET scan, it was also discovered that it has metastatised to liver (Multiple peripherally enhancing thick walled lesions with diffusion restriction and mild peripheral metabolic activity in both hepatic lobes). For treatment options, I have been recommended to go with Somatostatin (targeted therapy). I wanted to reach out and see if anyone out there (or someone you know) went through this issue and what treatment were considered/administered. Also if there are experts out there, would love to understand the possible options/outcomes for this situation. Thanks and appreciate your help.

Well differentiated, grade 2, neuroendocrine tumors in tail of pancreas and spread to some lobes of my liver. Have taken 2 injections of Lanreotide with no side effects. I basically feel normal with good energy and appetite. The only thing bothering me is a itchy, body rash which may be paraneoplastic effect? Not sure at this point?
Thank you for sharing @billbo. Hope that treatment continues to work for you without side effects. I am thinking to go ahead with the similar treatment vs doing a chemo (which was the other option).
I have we'll differentiated, grade 2 NET in tail of pancreas and spread to liver. Have had 2 injections of Lanreotide, 1 more to go next month and then reassessment. No symptoms or side effects thus far.
My best kevel of treatment would be PRRT, peptide radionuclear therapy, a targeted form of radiation. There are several other levels of treatment before chemo, is my understanding?
