WBC, RBC, Low on zytiga + Orgovyx
Anyone else experience low WBC and low RBC on zytiga + Orgovyx? What did your medical team do to help restore WBC,RBC count to normal? Please provide some insight as I am deeply concerned about my low levels of both. Thank you!!

My RBC, Hemoglobin and hemocrit have all been low since I took Zytiga. My WBC has stayed normal. My oncologist feels that the numbers aren’t really an issue since they aren’t that low. If they got much lower, I would feel anemia, but I have no fatigue problems at all.
They can give you blood plasma transfusions to try to increase those counts. I’ve heard of people doing it because they are on PARP inhibitors which really drop the blood counts.
Thanks, Jeff I do plan to discuss this with my hematologist and because I just had some lab work done and my WBC and RBC is a bit lower than the normal range and I think it’s contributing to my fatigue
The kidney in addition to its exocrine function of purifying blood and creating urine is an endocrine hormone producer. It creates erythropoietin which stimulates bone marrow to produce red blood cells. People with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or end stage renal disease (ESRD) on dialysis are given a synthetic equivalent called EPOGEN. The lower oxygen pressure in Colorado Springs was chosen to increase RBCs to prepare for the similar altitude of the Olympic site Mexico City. Iron and B12 helped the process. Some athletes later started to dope with Epogen until they tested for it. Then they resorted to whole plasma infusions [?] I don't think the low threshold is present with the use of the two drugs mentioned.
