Wait time to hear back after records going to triage?

Posted by dotyai72 @dotyai72, 1 day ago

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some insight from others who have gone through the process at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. I was recently told that my records have been sent to neurology for triage, and I’m just wondering—what was the typical wait time before you heard anything back?

I know it can vary depending on the situation, but I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks in advance!

@dotyai72 Have you asked your contact at the specific Mayo Clinic? They will have a better idea based on location and current workload.

Yes. I have. I was told max four weeks and were well past 4 weeks now. I am keeping in contact weekly and am being told there’s no updates that my information and records are still in triage.

When I called for an appt recently, I was told no appts, no waitlist, demand exceeds supply. I guess if your doctor requests an appt you may get your foot in the door. I was a patient there for 25 years, and now 10 years without going, and this is what it is. Let us know how it goes.

@dotyai72 I just went through the triage for Orthopedics at Mayo Clinic Rochester. I heard back within a week after they received all the records and images that they wanted. But that’s a different department than neurology where you are awaiting a call.

If this were me I’d make those phone calls to the neurology phone number on a weekly basis which it sounds like you are already doing.
