Vulva burning

Posted by anxiousalot45 @anxiousalot45, 6 days ago

I am currently 9 weeks postpartum and have had a burning sensation for 10 days straight now on my vulva. My labia has gone from dark red to pink and I have had clear sticky discharge along with water discharge depending on the day. No sore or other symptoms. Is this hsv? Or is it a different infection? Im freaking out about it.

You’ll probably get better answers from the women your age, but in my experience that sounds like your hormones trying to adjust. When estrogen and progesterone are out of wack there is a clear discharge and the skin can feel irritated/burning. I’d check with your OB/GYN. I tend to send message using the health app to the doctor to see if they need me to come in - you get a quicker response, and chances are, if the doc suspects it’s a simple issue they can suggest something to help.

Get in touch with your doctor. It could be your body adjusting or you could have an Infection.

Congratulations on your new family addition!

It sounds like you have an infection but not HSV. It could also be hormonal changes. If you had HSV, your doctor would have put you in medication like valacyclovir in your last trimester of pregnancy so you did not infect your newborn during delivery. Definitely see your OBGYN as soon as possible to determine if you need treatment.
