Vibration plates anyone using

Posted by laurie16 @laurie16, Dec 1, 2024

Hi
I’m wondering if anyone is using or has any feedback if vibration plates have helped with bone density /growth
I have osteoporosis and osteopenia
I was looking at Life pro

I bought a life pro when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and had to wait 3 months for a second opinion. After I received the 2nd opinion, I took Evenity for 12 months. My spine went from -3.7 to -2.9. I have no idea if the vibration platform contributed to my improvement or not. I used it once a day for 10 minutes and increased to twice a day after I felt more secure. I continue to lift light weights, walk, and use the life pro. I’ve read that if nothing else, it may help the lymphatic system. I hope this helps. Dr. Rubin on YouTube talks about his research on vibration boards.

Here near Chicago, I joined Osteostrong and am using once a week the vibeplate which is just what you described a vibration machine to stand upon. I am brand new to the this group and the Osteostrong group so I'll give an update later on my progress. I have Osteopenia in the hips and Osteoporosis of the spine as my General Practictioner described to me this year, from a DEX scan taken December of 2023. Im taking AlgaeCal through a Chiropractor.

Check out these videos from the bone health summit - and vibration plates are discussed by Clinton Rubin, PhD.

I bought a Power Plate and love it. Not only for doing strengthening exercises but for massaging my calves after long hikes. I do push-ups and planks on it which are intensified by the vibration. I use it for 20 minutes per day and hope it will show up as improving my next DEXA. Even if it doesn’t kick up my numbers I find it to be valuable for overall health.

Conflict of interest since he - Rubin- profits from Marodyne, at 3k , one of the most expensive out thee. His ads claimed prominently a NASA affiliation . Misleading bec they never used or approved his device. His US based sales people are smarmy. There are less expensive machines that you can adjust to the same specs. Not many, but they do exist.

Would you mind sharing which model you purchased. There are so many. I purchased the Marodyne and it didn't work for me. The vibration is very weak.

@persa. Think you may be right. I purchased the Marodyne and it didn't do anything after a year. Now I am searching for one that works. And he does have a conflict of interest which I didn't realize at the time of purchase.

Not sure if any work. I do know that i d rather be out 3-500$ than 3 K, however! I believe the ones like Power Plate etc are good for athletes to aid in muscle building but they can be dangerous w underlying conditions and i can see how they might actually cause fractures. Marodyne won t hurt you at least! There is one plate on Amazon that has the same movement , vertical, i think, and can be set to the same settings as Marodyne. Then you can adjust to the higher range that the athletes use. I have this mainly to regain muscle mass and if there is an effect on bone, that will be nice, but i m not counting on it.

Its the VT 007. The guy has a lot of info on Amazon and a separate site. His CS is great. At least read his info to understand what you should be looking for. He explains well. It costs 399$. Make sure you get LINEAR vibration. And compare the specs w Marodyne. On one end of range VT matches it but you can increase if that works for you. Plus the guy behind it knows fitness. The Maromen and their ads were so cringey, like car salesmen!
