What's your experience with Vertiflex Superion Implant?

Hi @esperanza22, can you tell me more about your experience with Vertiflex Superion implant? Was the expandable implant inserted in more than one place? Did you experience any relief? What was the procedure like?

I just had it three weeks ago, It is in one place. So far the relief I obtained is that when I get up in the morning, I used to buckle under and limp. I still get a pain on my right side like I used to. My foot still gets numb, I thought it would help that, will be going to a foot doctor next week. I have severe spinal stenosis, so I tried this as I will not have surgery. I am going to my doctor in a day or so, will keep u posted. The brochure says not to bend or twist for 6 weeks. I hate to hear that because I’m booked for Aug 23 to have one but this what I doing is to find people that’s had it to see if it worked. The PA said they would be putting 2 to 3 implants in me I was looking at another web site about this and that Doctor said use this for moderate stenosis but not severe stenosis well I have severe so I’m doing my MRI this coming Thursday and before I go in I’m calling them to see what all it says

I am at the three week mark. Going to the doctor today to see what he says. It has been so hot, so I have not been able to walk too much, but I think my walking is improving. The brochure says no bending, no twisting. I have another three weeks to gol I will be happy to keep corresponding with you and giving up-dates. I hope u read my first description.

Yes o am interested in how your doing with that do you think maybe they should put at least 2 implants in ?

I went to the doctor the other day and am reporting as promised the outcome. As I said getting up in the morning has improved, It used to be a nightmare pulling myself together. I have an appointment to get a facet shot week after next. He claims that sometimes the shots work better after the veriflex procedure. I am still taking Advil in the morning, as that is my greatest help getting started in the a.m. By the way, I still have three more weeks to heal my back. It says not to bend or twist for six. My back still hurts somewhat. I thought maybe it would help my numb foot, but it did not work for that. As I said I am going to a foot specialist this coming Tuesday. For whatever reason, he only put one implant. I did not know that they put more in. I hope I answered your questions best as I can. Feel free to contact me and give me information as well. I don't know anyone that did this. Thanx

Also wanted to ask you if you were I. a lot pain after you’re implants my daughter thinks I’m gonna be in a lot of pain but I don’t so

It is always hard to remember pain, but I remember getting up from the chair and sitting down in the beginning was the worst. I want to tell you about getting a pole like the ones people use on the beach looking for treasure. I live alone and I dropped a lot of things, this saved my life as you cannot bend or twist.
Just curious, has your doctor done a lot of these Veriflex implants? I live in New York and mine said he only has done six. I wish I could tell you that I have greatly improved, I cannot. Maybe when I get the Facet shot, my back will improve more. Also I have three more weeks to go before being able to go back to normal bending or twisting. I had a choice, he said Veriflex or back surgery, I tried this as I could never do real back surgery. I hope you are successful. When are u having it?

Well I really do wish it had worked better for you maybe after the shot will help I really don’t know how many this Doctor has done I have only talk to his PA she just said they have had 90% good rate with it I don’t go until Aug 24th I do have a cane from when I had hip replacement and I have one of those grabbers I drop things all the time too my son lives with me so he can help some my daughter that lives in another city keeps telling me I’m gonna be in a lot of pain and I said no I don’t think so you would be a good one to ask keep me posted on how you’re doing and I will let you know how it went with me
