Using supplements post treatment

Posted by itterac @itterac, Oct 27, 2021

I just completed 3 months adt on orgovyx and 36 ebrt treatments. My last tes was 42 and my psa dropped fm .28 to undetectable prior to stating radiation. I have lifted weights all my liffe. During treatment I stopped taking whey protein and amino acid pills because I was afraid that coupled w lifting weights it would raise my tes. Can I safely start these again. Due for tes and psa tests in December.

@itterac, that is definitely a question that I would ask your oncologist, who knows you. Sounds like you have an appointment coming up soon or perhaps you could ask on a patient portal if you have one.

@vernonkent @mrbill @ronan2011 and @john57 might have thoughts to add.

I'd be interested to hear what learn from your oncologist.

I can’t imagine that lifting and added protein would be anything but a positive for you. Talk with your doc, for sure, but I was encouraged to continue exercise and healthy diet throughout and after treatment.

I am primarily interested in if anyone has been told not to take whey or amino acids because they might raise testosterone. Anybody?
