Using Journaux (suzetrigine)After TKR

Posted by kzeiss @kzeiss, Jun 9, 2025

Has anyone had any experience with using Journaux for pain after total knee replacement? Could you please please give any insights or suggestions?

I know I need a replacement on my left knee. I cannot take opioids due to severe negative reaction. 9 years ago, I tried every alternative for my TKR on my right knee. I think the pain was so intense it feels like it took ten years off my life? Trying to wait but know knee is effecting other parts of my body so I know another TKR is inevitable.AArgh!

I have been using it for about 2 months, definitely helps. I actually was wondering when I should stop! Good luck

Actually, the medicine in question is usually only prescribed for about 2 weeks post surgery. I have never heard of anyone being on it for 2 months; much less their insurance covering it!!! I could only be approved for a 1 time - 2 week supply immediately following my THR for a reduced price through the makers of the drug of $30.00. Medicare does not yet cover this drug. Also, once I read some of the "side effects" I decided I really didn't need any more aches or pains in any of my joints; ESPECIALLY following surgery!!!
