US guided endoscopy along with ERCP

Posted by sb4ca @sb4ca, Jul 3, 2023

Hi All, I have had elevated liver enzymes for about 10 years. I recently decided to see a hepatologist at a teaching hospital and he's great and not messing around. The last liver biopsy felt it was likely drug induced. I had an MRCP last year which showed: GB removed with the main duct showing a prominence with mild distension . The main pancreatic duct is also enlarged (5mm) with a small cyst in the duct and another one distally. My main liver duct is (12mm) enlarged. That is why they are doing the ERCP. My brother IL had the same procedure years ago and got pancreatitis. I'm relaying this in the hope that someone has had this procedure and can give me a heads up along with the type of reporting they received But all comments will be helpful. Thanks much

Sorry you had so many Problems. Like to give you some Info on the Endoscopy. On a routine X Ray they found a Cyst on my Pancreas.I could have gone to an MRI but this Endoscopy covers a wider Erea.Cancer was found and i am now in treatment.I believe this Endscopy is the best way to go,You will get the Results very quickly ,in your Case as a larger Area is involved ,it would be a good way to go.Good Luck and all the Best.

I'm very sorry this happened to you but glad they caught it. How hard has your treatment been? I initially emailed a contact at the University of CA/San Francisco for a cyst registry and it turned out to be the managing doctor. I had a consult with her and she said the dilation was her biggest concern and referred to University of CA/Irvine where I live. My cysts were very small but who knows how fast they came on. The test is next week but I came down with significant herpes zoster, worse in my eyes but also inside my mouth and throat. I''m waiting to hear if it's still on. I wouldn't think it should matter by then .
