Shen is great and he works out of Burbank. Donin is very good and has been my doctor for three years. Reiter is also very good and he has been the administrator of the Erleada clinical trial that I am in. He is clearly personable and an expert working and department head out of Westwood but I think that he has has too much on his plate to give me the time that I need. All three of these doctors have treated me for the last three years and I feel that I am lucky to have them helping me.
I began seeing UCLA Medical Oncologist Dr. John Shen earlier this year for on-going follow-up to my HDR Brachytherapy + SBRT by Dr. Chang at UCLA in March 2024.
Dr. Shen has been excellent for me. Knowledgeable, well-prepared for consultations, listens to my concerns, and patiently explains info. Highly recommended.
As I do with all my doctors, be sure Dr. Shen knows you want to be an active participant in deciding your treatment plan -- especially important for prostate cancer. That means you should be knowledgeable about the details of your condition and possible treatment options.
I see Dr. Shen by video conference and also at his Encino office. According to his Bio, he also practices in Westwood and Santa Monica.
