I'm wondering what the difference is with typical lung carcinoids and gl carcinoids?

Hi Jess. Is the 2nd part of your question GI carcinoids?

@jessie1990 I only know the basics. They are both neuroendocrene tumors. GI carcinoids frequently cause digestive issues and carcinoid syndrome. The specific location of the tumor determines other symptoms and complications. Lung carcinoids often cause breathing issues like coughing or wheezing. The treatment for both can vary. Wish that I had more for you.

@jessie1990 I don't know if one is easier than the other. The initial goal is to remove it before it spreads. That is why I was happy that you got the surgery. Get it out and be done hopefully. Once it spreads, treating it in both the lungs and GI gets more difficult. There are more things to consider before determining what to do next. Make sense?

@jessie1990 Wow. That is very high. The anxiety while waiting is tough for most of us. Do you do anything to stay calm while waiting? I usually sing or hum a calming song while I wait. Believe it or not, U2's 40 is one of my favorites to help me stay calm. Or One Love by Bob Marley. Do you have a favorite calming song?
