Tymlos low dosage
Was wanting to know if anyone has been on Tmylos doing a low dosage of 4 clicks has been told by your Dr that it is still being therapeutic. Know we need to continue to increase but being I am inching my way up, was curious what others have been told. My Dr wasn't aware of anything but 8 clicks.

I was on half a dose of Tymlos for 9 months. My REMS Echolight test showed improvement in my spine from -3.3 to -2.8. There was no change in my hips. I changed to Forteo, because my Endo thought that it would be better than half a dose of Tymlos. Now after 5 months on Forteo, I am starting to get more unwelcome side effects. I have another REMS test next week. If I have no improvement, I will ask to go back on half a dose of Tymlos. I am afraid of all the possible drug choices to hold in gains.
Thank you. It appears you had good results for your spine. Hopefully you find what’s best for you. I’m at half dose now. It can be difficult to know what’s best when it takes time.
Thank you again for I was concerned if I wasn’t able to tolerate full dose.
My doctor wanted me to start on one click of Tymlos on March 31st and move up gradually. I am now on 4 clicks. Because the assumption is that I will keep increasing gradually until the full dose, we did not discuss if stopping at 4 clicks could be therapeutic. This is the contact number for Tymlos: 8 AM to 7 PM ET at 1-855-730-8591
I just posted info about my positive outcome despite being on a Tymlos half dose (4 clicks) for three months, followed by a three-month pause, and being on 2 clicks for most of the past two months. I went from osteoporosis range to osteopenia range in my spine (3.3 -> 2.4) and hips (3.1 -> 2.5). I remained unchanged, and still in the osteoporosis range, at the femoral neck.
So good results can be had even at a lower-than-therapeutic dose (and for only five months on the medication). I am glad to be sharing this info because I also was concerned that I was expending this money and time for nothing.
Some other info that might be relevant: I am 96 lbs and 5'3". I also have been following the Onero exercise program while on Tymlos. And, I have really increased my consumption of calcium.
Thank you for sharing your information for i was wondering if i could only do half dose if it was helpful. I was up to four clicks after three weeks, Then stopped for a procedure then began back with 2 clicks and stopped again for becoming ill with a horrible uti and I could not tolerate all the side effects plus still on medicine from pain of healed fractures from kyphoplasty and then SI joint injections. Sometimes I feel hopeless trying to get on top of everything to get better. Have a trip planned end of month for Viking cruise and I am so concerned if I should go due to all going on. My spine score was -2.9. Don’t know what happened being mine had improved without medication. Thanks again.
