Did your tumor markers change after breast cancer surgery?

Posted by jegarry29 @jegarry29, Mar 19, 2022

Stage 1, invasive. After double mastectomy, a week and a half ago , marker only dropped a point from 52 to 51. PET and CT were negative. How has everyone’s markers changed immediately after surgery? Oncologist said could be elevated due to inflammation. I am also seeing it is not recommended for stage 1.

After double mastectomy, a week and a half, marker only dropped a point from 52 to 51. Doctor said leaning towards CHT that it has only dropped one point. PET and CT negative. Has this happened to anyone else?

What is CHT? My 27 29 was 2541 when recently just diagnosed with reoccurrence after 10 years. I discovered a lump in my collar bone area. Went down to 1431 after 1st chemo of THP Taxotere, Herceptin & Perjeta.

@mssewest, I believe CHT stands for combined (estrogen-progestogen) hormone therapy. Is that what you are referring to Jegarry?

I heard a patient with breast carcinoma went on treatment with RNA microvesicles loaded with anti-cancer gene p53 and GSDME mRNA. Levels of CA27,29 was dropped from over 300 to 60 or so after 4 month treatment.
