TULSA-PRO Whole gland treatment

Posted by btmason70 @btmason70, 2 days ago

I had TULSA-PRO whole gland treatment almost 5 weeks ago. The procedure was a success so far. I do not have incontinence issues at all and at this point I look cancer free. However, I have not seen any movement back towards a baseline erection. Can anyone who has undergone TULSA-PRO give me some type of sort of expectation here? Thanks.

I am sorry, I have no valuable information to share regarding ED, but would you mind sharing what was your gleason score and where did you have TULSA done ? It is pretty new procedure so maybe not many members here had it and can share experience.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is helpful to you, but I had a 65-70% ablation, not whole gland, 7 months ago, and my erections were normal as soon as the catheter was removed, however my orgasms are dry.

I had TULSA PRO done last Nov. I had three cores showing cancer. The MRI the Dr. showed me looked like the whole gland was ablated, I'll ask about that in June when I go back for follow up. My erection may be better than before the procedure. It will take a little while to gain confidence that it will work. Viagra works really well for me. One pill will last a couple of days or more. I also have a dry orgasm. My Dr. told me that is normal after the procedure.

I've heard from quite a few men who've had ablation and its been a real quick return for them too. However, I've not spoken directly to anyone who did whole gland or both sides like I did... my Doc still acts confident that I will return to a normal baseline but how else would he act? Of course a Google search will give a response of 3-6 months... Still, hearing from a real person with similar experiences would be nice. Thanks for responding and I'm so happy it went well for you..

How long before you started seeing good responses to stimulation/erections post procedure?

I had mine done in Dallas TX at Texas Prostate. Doctor Cochran is the urologist who does all the TULSA PROs. He had a radical prostatectomy himself 20 years ago and is a huge believer in this as a viable option if you meet the criteria. Ie.. your prostate is within workable size parameters (60 and under), your PSA is under 20 and your cancer is confined. Then he's also working directly with Dr. Chopra who pioneered the procedure. Dr. Chopra actually sat in on my procedure. He's a really nice man. If you have interest I'm sure I can help facilitate getting a way for some of you to have contact with him. Let me know. Good luck in your journey.
