Tramadol - fatigue issue?
Long time RLS history. Take 50mg. Tramadol mid-afternoon; add 25 mg. along with .25 mg Ropinerole about 9 PM; .50 mg. Ropinerole at bedtime (about midnight). Have noticed for some time that I am somewhat fatigued during the morning hours. After my mid-afternoon dose of Tramadol, my energy returns to normal. Recently, I have had to up my regular 25 mg of Losartan to 100 mg, and my fatigue worsened. As an experiment, this morning I took an extra 50mg. of Tramadol (okayed this with my GP at my last visit) ~ lo, and behold, plenty of energy! My questions are these: Is the fatigue caused by overnight withdrawal from the Tramadol? Is the larger dose of Losartan now contributing to the fatigue issue? I was prescribed 50 mg. of Tramadol twice a day a couple of years ago for a combination of RLS and arthritis pain, but have been reluctant to take the full dosage until absolutely necessary. (It is one of the few meds that does not cause augmentation of RLS and less addiction of most opioids, and works well with Ropinerole) I am 86 and also have fluctuating CKD along with the high BP, arthritis and RLS, but this combo of meds works well for me, other than this annoying fatigue. Advice, thoughts or solution, anyone?

I've taken tramadol for a while now. Yes tramadol gives me a little energy and I have noticed some mornings I feel like crap until I take my dose of tramadol. I've never heard of the other drugs you take but I'm interested if they help with arthritis and neuropathy! I have an appointment with my neurologist next week and I plan on asking him about those drugs because my neuropathy has gotten almost unbearable. Good luck!

Karyn.....Losartan is for BP, and the Ropinerole is specifically for RLS and Parkinson's. The Tramadol does help somewhat with my arthritic pain; I cannot take most meds that target arthritis because they trigger RLS symptoms for me, and NSAIDs are completely out if you have kidney issues (my CKD is the direct result of taking Celebrex for many years!). Celebrex is great for Osteoarthritis, but terrible on kidney function. I don't have any symptoms of neuropathy. Hope this helps.
