Total knee replacement in August 2024 Jan 2025 can't stand

Posted by misstheresa19 @misstheresa19, 4 days ago

On August 22, 2024, I had a Total knee replacement. Everything went well, and I walked well. January 26, 2025
My right leg was weakened; I couldn't stand after sitting. I had to use my cane to begin walking, but after that, I could walk without a cane. I have started sitting and standing exercises to strengthen my right leg and cycling for 30 minutes Three times a week
Is there an individual who can the cause. Thank you

I had my left TKR on June 26, 2024. Needed an MUA (manipulation under anesthesia) 6 weeks later due to scar tissue issues. Flexion and extension improved considerably. I still have some pain on the outside of the knee, usually after the gym and sometimes using steps.
I'm assuming your TKR was on your right knee? Was there pain with the weakening of the knee? Are you using equipment to strengthen your leg (leg extension, leg press, etc.)
I am 67 yrs. and have found the pain is from the IT band from the hip to the knee. Stretches does help the pain along with the standing leg presses. Hope this helps.
