Total hip/femur/knee replacement
Almost 3 years ago I shattered my femur mid-shaft (closed fx) and the orthopedic Surgeon only inserted a rod into the shaft of the femur. I now need a total hip and knee replacement. I'm curious if Mayo Clinic uses the Stryker adjustable replacement part to solve issues such as these. The current x-rays of the femur indicate that I have at least one to two more years before the rod can be removed and have a smaller diameter rod inserted and the knee replaced. Be advised that my left leg (affected ) is about 3 CM shorter than the right (good) leg.
