Total ankle replacement with calcaneal osteotomy

I’ve had my TAR With Calcon as the July 2024. This is due too many years of pain and instability from trauma many years ago one year out and I’m having problems walking due to and in mobility in the foot itself. The ankle mobility is not 100% but seems fine. It’s the foot that doesn’t bend or toes. Now I walk like a duck flapping my foot instead of a smooth stride. If I walk without shoes on I occasionally trip over my big toe because it curls under involuntarily. Has anyone had this problem? The surgeon had mentioned that there is tendons may need to be stretched or there may be scar tissue, impeding movement. I am due to see him in October. I had an MRI recently, which didn’t say much other than edema and severe muscle atrophy. I would like to know if there is a way to get the foot and toes moving again. I’m unable to enjoy the activities I used to enjoy and I am looking forward to getting back to normal. If it’s possible.

Hopefully, you will be better!
My friend had the same surgery and has many of the same issues that you have but she is experiencing lots of pain. She is unable to wear shoes and go about her day normally! Her big toe is in constant pain and she feels burning and painful nerve movement under the plant of her foot!
Do you feel any pain?
This has been going on for the last 7 months! She suspects the cast was too tight and caused nerve damage!
What do you think?
