Today’s PSA Test Results

Posted by brianjarvis @brianjarvis, Dec 16, 2025

Today was my 6-month PSA test (4-1/2 years after proton radiation treatment). As usual, I experienced a little anxiety when the MyChart text message popped up indicating that I had a new test result.

—> PSA = 0.314 ng/mL

Another good PSA result to add to my tracking spreadsheet when I get home (& then not think about this until 6 months from now).

I started PSA testing in 2000 (at 45y); was diagnosed with low-grade, localized prostate cancer in April 2012; went on active surveillance for about 9 years; was treated with 28 fractions of proton radiation during April-May 2021 (w/SpaceOAR Vue & 6 months of Eligard). So far, very good results.

Nice drop from your June test.

The only thing I’m “doing” (besides eating healthier - something she recommended decades ago, and continuing to exercise 6 days/week), is taking two supplements for maintenance - both of which are questionable in their efficacy:
> Lycopene (10mg, 1x/day)
> Modified Citrus Pectin (2.4g, 3x/day)

For whatever good they may be doing, I’ll keep taking them for as long as my numbers stay good.

(Either that, or the Proton + Eligard worked as well as planned.)

No way, must have been the supplements. 😉

Congrats on the great test result!
