This is a story that Time wrote
“She is at it again! Can’t she see that I’m fried? It’s four in the morning and she is already trying to organize me. I need help!” Time Cried out.
“I’ll slow her down.” Inflammation called back. “I’ll stiffen her joints, and that will do it.”
The woman wrench and clenched her teeth as a jolt of pain went through her body. She didn’t have time for this. She downed 4 ibuprofen and felt better.
“Inflammation you have to do more. That didn’t even phase her. I can’t stretch another inch. I will snap.” Time bagged.
“I’ll pull out the big guns. I’ll attack her gut. That should do the trick.” Promised inflammation.
The woman doubled over in pain. It was the worse pain she had ever felt. It took her to her knees and eventually to the emergency room. Inflammation was not fooling around. She turned the woman’s own body into a weapon against her. It worked. She was forced to stop everything and rest. Time began to tick naturally.
“Good job inflammation! I have room to move freely now.”
The woman wasn’t going to allow a little obstruction keep her down. In no time she was back at her old ways. Time started to be wound up again. The tension was more than Time could stand. Time called out again. “I need help. She needs to slow down. I just can’t give her any more of myself.”
Inflammation explained to time she had done all she could. “I can talk to the others to see what can be done. We know there is only so much of you, Time.”
Inflammation conferred with the other parts of her immune system, and it was agreed that they would strike until she takes a break. The woman barely even noticed the strike. She just kept on doing it all. The strike went on so long that the trash began to accumulate in her blood stream. Repairs were not getting done. The woman ignored the signs and pushed on. Time was hanging by a thread when the woman broke. Cancer had arrived with her ugly nasty tentacles grasping at everything in sight. This time it worked. The woman realized that she had not paid attention to her body. She realized she had pushed time so hard and fast that now she may be out of time.
