The sunny side of thyroid/trachea cancer? Cholesterol under control

Posted by kmlnj @kmlnj, Jan 25 7:07am

My total thyroidectomy was October 2024. Because the cancer was wrapped around my trachea, I had 35 radiation treatments with 6 chemotherapy "boosters ".
That treatment was successful. Follow up scans show no active cells. (Sloan Kettering)
All good. And next....
My cholesterol has always been "abnormal " , whether I was too heavy or lost weight.
Now, nine months after treatment, my blood tests show all cholesterol levels very good. Must have been the 3 months on Kate Farms liquid diet.
I am working very hard to keep my weight healthy (not gain).

@kmlnj, those are some milestones to celebrate with sunshine. No evidence of cancer cells and well-managed cholesterol levels. Congratulations.

What approaches are you using to keep a healthy weight? Do you have physical activities you enjoy? Eating habits that work well for you?

Thank you!
I rely on smoothies to get the right nutrition. I have a dog that must be walked and I enjoy walking. My grandchildren keep my focus forward. I love to travel and went to Antarctica in January. Heading to the British Isles in April.
Grateful for each day.
