Thank you for your prayers!

Thank you for all of your prayers and kind comments for my husband, Ed when he was sick with lung cancer! Unfortunately, he died tonight. The aid car came with 10 people who worked hard and got his heart going again. However he died at the hospital. Your kind words and prayers helped him through a bad time.
Thank you so much!

Helen,
Thank you for your prayers! Ed and I were married 30 wonderful years! We met when he fixed an electrical problem in my home. We just got along great and had so much in common that it was only natural that we get married. Ed was a very friendly, kind person. He helped everyone and could fix anything. He was a journeyman machinist by trade and so good at it that they tried to hire him back after he retired. He always was buying me flowers and doing kind things for me. He cooked good too! He made the best mashed potatoes! He also believed in God and Jesus. We prayed everyday and read the Bible from cover to cover twice. Ed was a very sweet husband! I miss him terribly. I'm managing OK but it's very lonely. I have no family that speak to me anymore. Also most of them are dead since I'm 78. All of Ed's family are dead. He was 83 and the baby of 9 children. I know that Ed is up in Heaven and I will be there eventually to join him. In the meantime, I will just keep busy. I have a messy house to clean and my gardens have been neglected. I also may resume my writing. I mostly write poetry and it has been published a few times.
However, it has been so nice to see the outpouring of kind messages from the Mayo Clinic forum people! You are more family to me than anyone!
Thank you!

@pml. It’s lovely that you had thirty years of marriage after a chance meeting when he fixed an electrical problem at your home. As you work in your home and garden I imagine that you see evidence of Ed everywhere. Your faith in Ed’s presence in Heaven where you will join him one day will sustain you throughout your years on earth. Perhaps Ed will also appear in your poetry?
