TCHP CHEMO

What if Taxotere is administered last and after carboplatin? Will this effect the treatment outcome? Thought taxotere should be before carboplatin.

Although I know this is usually administered first. I am not sure that in the overall scheme of things it really makes a difference. As all of these drugs will be circulating in your system together. Nice thought right? If this really concerns you, you should definitely ask your oncologist or oncology nurse. You have a right to know and should ask, what when and why, and you can do it every single time if you need to in order to be comfortable with your treatments. Remember you are the primary decision maker in your treatment plan. Triple positive cancer is a bugger, but I am grateful they have developed more and more treatments.
How many treatments are you scheduled for? How many have you had?

Hi @jjmc, you're right. TCHP refers to a combination of chemo medications given in a special order to treat cancer.
– Docetaxel (Taxotere)
– Carboplatin (Paraplatin)
– Trastuzumab (Herceptin)
– Pertuzumab (Perjeta)

Did you ask your oncologist why they are recommending taxotere be given last?
