Taking Hormones After Mastectomy

Posted by bcwarrior @bcwarrior, Dec 14, 2022

Hello All,

I pray you're feeling better today.

I used to wonder why we all heard about breast, colon, and leukemia cancers. I never realized that there were so many different breast cancers : ( My original 2007 and 2022 recurrence were ER PR Positive BC. Now that I had the super complicated double mastectomy I want to take estrogen. I wish I could make this post a poll. What do you think? Yes or No? There are many reasons that may be beneficial to having estrogen again IMO.

Do you mean estrogen or an estrogen blocker? If your cancer is estrogen positive (meaning the receptors of your cancer respond to estrogen and the tumor got fed by it) estrogen would be dangerous. I am curious why you are considering this. Just because you have a mastectomy, or two, does not mean you are reliably safe!
