Which osteo med is best for bone health with anastrozole and verzenio?
I have read you should not take Prolia shots while taking Verzenio and
Anastrozole. I am worried about my bone density.

@anniez1943, there are several drugs available to treat osteoporosis. Have to talked with your oncologist about which one would work best with your cancer treatment?
@anniez1943 I'm taking Anastrozole and my Dr prescibed a Reclast infusion. Had it 5 months ago with no noticable side effects thus far.
Hi. I’m taking Tymlos with Anastrazole. Approved by rheumatologist and oncologist. We shall see.
I’m currently on exemestane (problems with Anastrazole) and not yet on bone meds. Bone scan showed -1.3 only left hip so I declined meds last year. He recommended Prolia and when I said I was uncomfortable because of side effects and rebound, he acted surprised I knew about that but then suggested Reclast. Because of the scan results, I didn’t feel I qualified for these meds (I know, preventative medicine - stop it from forming instead of slowing progression once it’s there). Next scan is in May and he’s now talking Clodranate or Zometa so am still waiting to see results, further recommendations, what I actually can use based on insurance and doing more research. I’m not really comfortable with these meds because they don’t really help support healthy bone, just stop destruction of bone without allowing new bone growth so it seems we end up with dense old brittle bones instead of dense healthy bone. But it is kind of the rock and the hard place (as is almost all of this treatment). I’ll keep an eye on this thread to see what else is recommended.
I have the same, -1.4 in left hip only. No one suggested any bone treating meds. On Exemestane.
