Swollen Ankles
Since I've been on ADT (Eligard) for 4 months, I'm noticing my ankles swelling. I'm wondering if there is there a correlation.

Stew , I have not been on ADT but I know a few guys who have been on it in my PC support group. No one that I can remember complained of this . If its quite bad , get the Drs to take a look at it . Many things they can do to stop this swelling .Swollen ankles and feet, known as edema generally , occur when fluid builds up in the tissues, often due to factors like prolonged sitting or standing, pregnancy, or underlying health conditions such as heart or kidney issues. It's important to consult a healthcare provider if the swelling persists and/or is accompanied by other symptoms. It could be heart or kidney issues and other serious things . I find if you keep moving , light hiking , this calms down ....but get your Dr's take on it first ! God Bless Sir ! James on Vancouver Island .
This is a known problem with ADT. I’ve had it occasionally, and I can feel it when my shoes feel tight.
Swollen ankles can be a side effect of Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT), commonly used in prostate cancer treatment. ADT can cause fluid retention, leading to swelling, particularly in the extremities like ankles and feet. This is due to hormonal changes and potential disruptions in fluid balance caused by the treatment.
I found that the problem tends to go away and then come back occasionally. Since no two people are the same you may have it worse than I did. I have heard from other people having the same problem in PC meetings.
For the first time in six months of ADT my right ankle was swollen last night. Not a big deal but my wife noticed it. Glad to hear this is a know side effect of ADT. My ADT ends this month. Will be happy to get my old self back and my ankle size reduced
I am with you bro. Don't need the swollen ankle issue. There is enough going on. Thanks for responding.
