Posted by gram46 @gram46, Jul 5, 2023

I am still having tightness in my neck and when
I swallow my neck skin and muscles pull up and it it difficult to fully swallow.

Incision is looking better but very hard in center of neck.

Have any of you had this problem ?

I had the same problems. They got better. Now I have tightness sometimes. I have a cough sometimes and I wake up with a dry throat. I drink some water.

gram46, i had a biopsy last november 2022, for a lump on my thryoid afterwards i felt as if someone was choking me, like that tightness you mentioned, it took a long time for that to go away, thing is, that afterwards i became hoarse. the endocrinologist then sent me to the ENT and they said my right vocal chord was paralyzed. i want to say the biopsy caused that but i do not have a diploma on the wall. so onto seeing 2 surgeons, january 31, 2023, had my first thyroid surgery for the right side, said the vocal chord had to be removed due to cancer and 11 of 19 lymph nodes removed due to the cancer. the left side was on march 28, 2023, only a small amount of cancer was found. the right side was the worst. so from then on i have complained of the feeling like a wide dog collar around my neck, like someone choking me, hard to swallow, have to chew up my food to where it will go down with some water. so i am months pass surgery and still have these problems. oh, i have "permanent" damage to the one vocal chord left. so here's wishing you the best and keep us informed on that "tightness" that you have. i do hope yours goes away.
