Surgery number 3? Really?
I'm just getting over the AUS surgery, but still have pain, mainly near the left testicle.
The pump was installed on the right because of issues on the left. I have testicular varicocele (essentially feels like a bag of worms) on the left side of the scrotum. Had it for 20 years & never bothered me.
I showed the surgeon the ultrasound of this before surgery. He didn't seem too bothered.
But if I'm still in pain when I go back in 4 weeks to get the pump activated, I'll ask him to have a look.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Dr Google says.... more surgery.

Peter, haven’t had surgery but have had varicocele for like 40 yrs. It does act up every now and then with brief pain but it goes away quickly.
If I am not mistaken they can sclerose the venous jumble with an injection similar to varicose veins in the leg…. check into it

Thanks, Phil. An injection doesn't sound so bad.

Scroll down past the nasty surgical stuff!
That's explained very well. Thanks for that.
Just a follow-up question, please.
Given the testicular varicocele & associated discomfort, did it take anyone longer than the expected 2 weeks to recover from AUS surgery?
I'm still in pain 3 weeks on & now wondering if the veins were shoved around a bit during surgery & that's why I'm experiencing pain for longer than "normal".
If you notice that your testicle (s) is enlarged more than normal, that’s a question for your surgeon.
As you say, things do get rearranged a bit in surgery but if it’s a blood flow issue that should be looked into IMO.

Thankyou. I'm seeing him Tuesday - initially at my request, just to check that the incisions are healing & check the reason for the pain.
But he's moved my activation date forward from the 15th to next week. Hopefully I'll be out of pain by then.
