Supracervical Hysterectomy (Cervix left)

Posted by mjagnes25 @mjagnes25, 1 day ago

I’d like to know what I can do to get surgery to remove my cervix. I have a long history of having LEEP procedures, biopsies, colposcopies, and other procedures. Every time my tests come back abnormal with squamous cells. I’ll be 61 in October and I’m really tired of this. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

@mjagnes25 I'd like to welcome you to Mayo Clinic Connect and to our Gynecological Cancers Support Group.

All of these tests and procedures must be so very frustrating for you. What kind of symptoms are you having? If I were in your place I might also be asking about removal of the cervix. I have a few questions for you.

Have you already discussed your desire for surgical removal of your cervix with your doctor? If yes, what did they say or recommend? Has your gynecologist considered your request? At this point, I'd ask for another opinion and a referral to a gynecological surgeon who you can consult with about this procedure. Have you already done this or would you like to do this?
