IBS in kids
I'm looking for support groups for kids with IBS or chronic constipation. My 9-yr-old would really like to know some other kids with these issues. Can be online or in the Twin Cities. I'm having trouble finding anything for kids by searching online.
It would also be really helpful to find a counselor that regularly sees kids with GI issues, again either in the Twin Cities or online.
Cross-posted in the Kids and Teens group. Thanks!

It is difficult for children to deal with constant GI upset.
Has your 9 year old seen a Pediatric Gastroenterologist?
I have heard them say that constipation is one of the most common patient complaints.
If you live close to a University Medical Center with Pediatric specialists you could ask if they have counselors that are seeing children with GI problems.
Thank you! We will be seeing a pediatric gastroenterologist soon, but I was hoping we could get started on the associated emotional issues while waiting.

Let’s hope we’ll hear from other parent members!
I have a 7 y/o daughter and we have been dealing with constipation issues since potty-training. We have been told by some school staff that she was showing “behavior issues” and they suggested to us that we show seek counseling for help with them. What emotional issues have you been seeing with your kiddo? I know mine was a lot shame/embarrassment based emotions which leads to other issues.
My 10 year old became very sick with stomach issues after traveling to Costa Rica. This has been going on since February. He hasn't been able to participate in life since then. We've dropped all activities and barely get school done at home. He taken xifaxan, nortriptyline, ib guard, and now he's on linzess. As his mother it is killing me to see my child suffer all day everyday. I'd like to look into fecal transplant. I'm also wondering if this could be a parasite. We've tested for them but I know they can easily pop false negative on tests. Anyone else give through something similar? Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?
@sas83 - how is your son doing? Did you decide to proceed with the fecal transplant or another therapy?
