Sudden breast tenderness and pain 5 years after chemo / lumpectomy?

Posted by tiffwolfe @tiffwolfe, 1 day ago

I am having a sudden tenderness and almost bruising like pain in the area I had a lumpectomy 5 years ago, anyone else experience this? I called doc and doing bloodwork tomorrow and ultrasound on Thursday. I don't feel any new lumps, it just stings to touch. Like I am pushing on a bruise.

No I haven’t had that happen, but I wanted to remind you to please be super vigilant. I actually found a lump and it didn’t show as cancer on an ultrasound, a mammogram or a CT scan. Everyone kept saying it was scar tissue from the same cancer, almost same place 30+ years ago….Until it started growing everyone blew it off. I demanded an MRI.
It had been in my chest over 2 years and what had been stage 0 the first round, ended up stage 3 invasive Ductal carcinoma that was in my pectoral muscle and mammory gland center chest.

Hello @tiffwolfe I believe you are doing the right things to get this checked. I have had one false alarm that started this way and one recurrence that started this way. My initial tumor started exactly this way except it had a lump, I actually thought it was a bruise for a while, as I am kind of a rough and tumble kind of girl. Good for you for getting it checked out.
I will be thinking of you and crossing my fingers and my toes.
Will you come back and let me know how it turns out?
