Stomach issues

Posted by kellycouey @kellycouey, Nov 3, 2022

I am wondering something? September 19th I was admitted with a small bowel obstruction, they did not have to do surgery on September 25 I was back in the Er because I felt I was dehydrated turns out I had a partial obstruction. I have had Nause, diarrhea and vomiting. On October 25 I finally got them to surgery laparoscopic they did not find anything. I work in the ER and I was in there with my mother on Monday and my ER doctor said that I was not looking good and made me sign in to get fluids. I have lost 30 pounds since Sept 19 what could be going on?

@kellycouey, welcome. Since you posted your question in the Colorectal Cancer, I imagine that you are concerned about a serious diagnosis. It is very worrisome to have such symptoms and to find nothing during laparoscopic surgery. It sounds like you still need to get to the bottom of the cause of the obstruction and the ongoing weight loss.

Was the surgery of the stomach and the bowels? Have you had a colonoscopy? Have you considered getting a second opinion?

It was of the stomach. He said that there was nothing there. I have made a appt to see a specialist. I am hoping he can point me in the right direction. I am not able to keep anything on my stomach at all.

My grandson has a similar issue. He cannot keep anything down. He is almost 15 now and went through cancer from age 4 to around age 9-10. Would you share your final diagnosis and, hopefully, cure with me? Thanks.

@rsfuller, this must be so hard to see your young grandson dealing with digestive issues and cancer for most of his young life. What kind of cancer did he have? Is he in the care of a cancer team still?

Two doctor appointments and they have found nothing wrong with my grandson. His mom got on the internet and found this: https://youtu.be/Lt-YrB8GHzU?si=JXtSgFHgmSFrzY_f regarding Rumination syndrome. That is where we are at presently. I am not sure if my grandson still gets checkups at the Phoenix Children's Hospital. I am traveling to Phoenix next week and will hopefully know more then.

@terrydalecasino
See if you can arrange for your son to get a CRTCT; (Cinematic Rendering Technology)Computerized Tomography Scan.
It shows a whole lot more in 3-D scanning.
