Starting Evenity several years after a spinal fusion

Posted by chardouglas @chardouglas, Sep 15, 2023

I had a spinal fusion (L2-L5) in 2018 and took Prolia for 2 years following surgery. I stopped Prolia in 2021. Bone density dropped from a normal bone to osteoporosis. One doctor wants me to take Evenity but I am concerned about the fusion and the screws in my spine. Has anyone started taking Evenity several years after a spinal fusion? If so, have you had any problems? Thank you.

I know that this is not the same thing, but I had a total hip replacement while on Evenity.
The surgeon said it was a non-issue and the hip replacement went really well with no problems. I’m still on Evenity.
That has gone well, too. Have had 4th injections.
