Stage 4 PC Longevity: Anyone have prostate cancer more than 10 years?
There is a lot of great info on this forum. I am 54 and was just diagnosed in January with metastatic Stage 4 PC. (Hip, L4, Sacrum, and a small liver lesion). My PSA has gone from 359 in January to .24 last week and I feel great! I am curious to know how many guys on this forum have been treated for more than 10 years and what your quality of life is like. It is stories like this that will give me (and others) more hope. Peace to you all!!!

I was scheduled for 6 rounds of Carboplatin with my Jevtana. Made it to the 5th infusion and the 3 weeks after were getting bad. I had a sensation of a burnt tongue and throat. They stopped it and I'm just on Jevtana and feel much better after the 6th round. Carboplatin is a killer. Oncologist told me nobody should go more than 6 rounds. That's overwith and I will see in 2 weeks if it did any good.
I had BRACI hereditary tests Nil We have OHIP here that covers both J and D but not 177 unless clinical trial
In clinical trial 177is free else 25K a shot Did you pay?
I asked for Jevtana if I do chemo and oncologist said standard is Taxotera docetal
I want to over ride him if I must go this way for reasons you say
Does J work as good as D
I can say for me personally, I was one of the very few that it didn't work. I would say do the Pluvicto and might work wonders for you. The side effects from Pluvicto were non existent for me. I just had some fatigue. I drove myself 50 miles to get it and drove myself back home. I slept in another room away from wife for 3 days as a precaution. As I said before, it just was doubing my PSA and we stopped it. Just monitor it. I gave it 3 rounds until I pulled the plug. The difference between Jevtana and taxotere chemo for me is that I found Jevtana to be milder and I didn't lose my hair. Jevtana targets prostate cancer cells better and leaves the good ones alone. Like I said everyone is different and what might work for me might not work for you and visa versa. I have not changed my lifestyle and continue to eat the foods I want but in smaller portions.
I think insurance companies prefer Docetaxel versus Jevtana when Castrate Sensitive. At least that is what I have been told. Jevtana also seems to have fewer side effects and is better tolerated. My understanding is that for some who become Castrate Resistant doctors may choose a combination of Jevtana and Carboplatin. My understanding regarding Pluvicto is that people respond in three ways. 1) It does not work. 2) It works but only drops PSA 50%, or 3) there is a profound response to the treatment. I do not know why Pluvicto works for some and not others. I have the same questions about chemotherapy and ADT. I'm guessing it depends on the type of PC mutation that one is experiencing. Is there BRAC1 or BRAC2 involvement or some other mutation that one might not be aware they have. Prostate Cancer sucks. We have to keep fighting.
Why no radiation to the lymph nodes?
Ask @robert570 he was on it as above
I have not been accepted yet
Hi I’m getting my first pluvicto treatment tomorrow can you give me any advice or how the side effects were and how long you had to stay away from people 2-3/days thank you Dave
Any idea why Jevtana is better than taxotere chemo for yo
Why did Lu 177 or Pluvicto not ork, The want me on a clinical trial of both
